McGuireWoods advised Houston-based green energy provider Rhythm Energy Inc. in its acquisition of Inspire Clean Energy, a leading provider of subscription-based, 100% renewable electricity plans across Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Ohio, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
The transaction creates one of the nation’s largest independent green energy retailers, extending Rhythm Energy’s reach beyond Texas into major deregulated markets in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.
Partner Jay Hughes and associate Johnny Mac Yates led the McGuireWoods deal team, which included associates Jacob Lubinski, Michelle Lim and Devin Crisanti. Partners Brian Kelly, Sabrina Conyers, Meghaan Madriz and John Semeniak, counsel Marc Nawyn, and associates Stephanie Martinez, Carrie Mobley and Hanna Brourman also advised on the transaction. General Counsel Brad Zachary led the Rhythm Energy deal team.
“We were pleased to work with Rhythm Energy on this major acquisition, which advances the company’s mission to provide innovative renewable energy solutions to customers across the country,” Hughes said.
